About the Role
Location: Slough (Thames Valley)
Salary: £39,415 - £45,136 depending on skills and experience + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

As part of the SSE Group, Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSEPD) owns one electricity transmission network and two electricity distribution networks, comprising 106,000 substations and 130,000 km of overhead lines and underground cables across one third of the UK.
The Thames Valley Region are currently recruiting for an Automation Technician who will be responsible for the installation/maintenance & daily fault repair of remotely controlled switchgear and associated equipment including all communications systems that support this within the electrical distribution up to 11kv.
- You'll be responsible for installing and commissioning automation schemes.
- You'll also monitor and supervise contractors throughout the region and will also be required to fault find, repair and maintain automation defects on a daily basis, using multiple manufacturer equipment as well to assist with this.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role:
- You will be highly self motivated with the ability to work effectively alone.
- You'll demonstrate the ability to effectively manage your own work program.
- With an understanding of Microsoft programs and the ability to update them, you should be SAP authorised or working towards it.
- You will also be keen to learn and develop your role, having knowledge of the automation currently installed.
