As part of the Studio Technology team you’ll be joining a group of seasoned, dedicated technologists solving a range of creative problems in innovative ways within an exciting and dynamic industry.
We are looking for a Sr. Machine Learning Engineer to join our StudioLAB team: someone who wants to shape the next generation of creative and production technology and directly help drive innovation across our cinematic pipelines and theatrical experiences. This is an individual contributor role who will be an active member of our Machine Learning Group, which is responsible for developing, implementing and deploying machine learning solutions across the Disney Studios. We are a diverse and welcoming team who focus on collaborative and supportive ways of working.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, debug and deploy new applications of machine learning
Test and benchmark academic papers, ML applications and tools
Guide technology transfer both to and from external teams
Collaborate with our partners across the Disney Studios, including Marvel, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar and ILM to address their needs
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning or related discipline
Experience in Python and either PyTorch or TensorFlow
Experience in a production software development environment (version control, automated testing, build tools)
Strong understanding of the foundations of ML techniques, including linear algebra and statistics
Extensive knowledge of deep learning algorithm development and experimentation
Familiarity with Docker or other containerization systems
Rock-solid skills in machine learning and deep learning methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education:
Master’s degree or PhD in computer science or related fields, specializing in machine learning, analytics, computer vision or closely-related discipline
The hiring range for this position in California is $136,038.00-$182,490.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
